Full-Arch Dental Implants (All-on-4 / All-on-6) in Manhasset

A full-arch restoration replaces an entire upper or lower arch of teeth with a fixed set supported by four to six dental implants. At North Shore Dental Group, periodontist Dr. Effie Ahladiotis places the implants and prosthodontist Dr. Seiichi Yamano designs and restores your new teeth — in the same office, from the first consultation onward.

What happens at your first full-arch visit

  • 3D imaging to evaluate your bone, sinuses, and nerve position

What Is a Full-Arch Restoration?

Full-arch implant treatment goes by several names — All-on-4, All-on-6, or implant-supported fixed teeth. Here is what they have in common.

How does a full-arch restoration work?

Four to six titanium implants are placed in the upper or lower jaw, where they fuse with the bone. A custom prosthesis — a complete arch of replacement teeth — is then attached to the implants. Because the teeth are fixed in place, they are not removed at night and do not rely on adhesives.

All-on-4 or All-on-6?

All-on-4 uses four implants, often angling the back implants to make use of available bone, which can reduce the need for grafting. All-on-6 uses six implants for additional support. The right number depends on your bone, your bite, and the prosthesis Dr. Yamano designs for you.

How is this different from a single implant?

A single implant replaces one tooth with one implant and one crown. A full-arch restoration replaces every tooth in an arch using only a few implants. If you are missing one or several teeth rather than a full arch, see our dental implants page or compare bridges and implants.

Who Is a Candidate for Full-Arch Implants?

Full-arch treatment is a significant decision. These are the situations where it is most often discussed.

Missing Most or All Teeth

Patients who are missing most or all of the teeth in an upper or lower arch can replace them with one fixed restoration.

Failing Teeth

When remaining teeth are badly broken down, loose, or affected by advanced gum disease, they may be removed and replaced with a full arch on implants.

Unhappy Denture Wearers

Patients whose dentures slip, rub, or need adhesive can move to teeth that are fixed to implants.

Bone Loss

Bone loss does not always rule out treatment. Dr. Ahladiotis performs bone grafting and sinus lifts, and angled implant placement can make use of the bone that remains.

Overall Health

Good general health supports healing. Conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smoking, or certain medications call for additional evaluation.

A Commitment to Maintenance

Full-arch restorations need daily home care and regular professional maintenance visits to stay healthy over the long term.

Full-Arch Implants vs. Dentures

Both replace a full arch of teeth. The difference is in how they are held in place.

The Full-Arch Treatment Timeline

Every case is planned individually. This is the general sequence of care.

01

Consultation & 3D Imaging

We take 3D imaging to evaluate your bone and anatomy, review X-rays with Pearl AI analysis, and discuss your goals, health history, and questions with both specialists.

02

Coordinated Planning

Dr. Ahladiotis and Dr. Yamano plan implant positions and the final prosthesis together, including the number of implants and any grafting needed.

03

Implant Placement

Dr. Ahladiotis removes any remaining failing teeth and places the implants under local anesthesia. Bone grafting or sinus lifts are performed when needed. A temporary restoration may be placed.

04

Healing

Over about 3 to 4 months, the implants fuse with the jawbone. You will have check-in visits to monitor healing. Cases with bone grafting take longer.

05

Final Prosthesis

Dr. Yamano takes precise records and designs your final full-arch prosthesis, then attaches it to the implants and refines your bite.

06

Long-Term Maintenance

Regular professional maintenance visits, cleanings around the implants, and periodic imaging help keep your restoration and the tissues around it healthy.

What Does Full-Arch Treatment Cost?

On Long Island, full-arch implant restorations generally range from $20,000 to $40,000 per arch. This is a general range, not a quote. Your cost depends on the number of implants, whether extractions or bone grafting are needed, and the type of final prosthesis.

After your consultation and 3D imaging, you receive a treatment plan that explains the recommended approach. Our adult specialists accept eligible out-of-network benefits, and we always file claims and work with insurance for you. Upon request, we gladly verify benefits and request an estimate; estimates are not guarantees, and coverage remains the patient’s responsibility. Learn how insurance works at our office.

Full-arch implants are often considered by adults who are missing most or all of their teeth in one arch, whose remaining teeth are failing, or who are unhappy with a removable denture. Good general health and enough jawbone (or the option of bone grafting) are important. Conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes or heavy smoking call for additional evaluation. A consultation with 3D imaging is the way to find out.

Both describe a fixed, full arch of teeth supported by dental implants. All-on-4 uses four implants, often with the back implants placed at an angle to make use of available bone. All-on-6 uses six implants to spread the forces of chewing across more support points. Dr. Ahladiotis and Dr. Yamano recommend an approach after reviewing your 3D imaging together.

Treatment begins with a consultation and 3D imaging, followed by coordinated planning. On the day of surgery, any remaining failing teeth are removed and the implants are placed. The implants then heal and fuse with the bone over about 3 to 4 months before Dr. Yamano completes the final prosthesis. Cases that need bone grafting take longer.

Often, yes. Dr. Effie Ahladiotis performs bone grafting and sinus lifts to rebuild bone where it is needed, and approaches like All-on-4 angle implants to make use of the bone that is available. Your 3D imaging shows how much bone you have and which approach fits your case.

No. A full-arch restoration is fixed to the implants, so it stays in place when you eat, speak, and sleep. You care for it with daily brushing and cleaning around the implants at home, along with regular professional maintenance visits at our office.
