Commander Weiss has served as the Dental Director for a non-profit group (2005), a General Practice Program Director (2007), and is currently the Pediatric Dental Program Director at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. It is the first Pediatric Dental Residency program in the Borough of Queens. Her commitment to excellence and education is unwavering. She graduated New York University College of Dentistry 1993 and completed her first residency in General Practice at the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in 1994. The journey continued to Brookdale Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY where she completed a Dental Anesthesiology Residency Program which focused on all aspects of pain, behavior and recovery management associated with surgical procedures. (1997) The time dedicated to non-profit Health centers allowed her to focus on the patients with the highest need and empathy: senior citizens, Pediatric patients and those with special needs. Commander Weiss completed her Pediatric Dental Residency training at New York University College of Dentistry in 2002. She completed her Board Certification in 2007 and her recertification July 2017.
Commander Jeannine Weiss joined the Navy Reserves in 2008. Through hard work, enthusiasm and dedication she was selected as the Officer in Charge of a Detachment of 140 people. She was instrument in updating the emergency action plans related to Active Shooter protocols and Mass Casualty Incidents at two NOSCs in NY while serving as the Deputy Director of Training at OHSU Portsmouth HQ 2013. Commander Weiss was deployed twice; Guantanamo Bay 2016 and Continuing Promise 2018. She is currently focusing on completing the AQD for Global Health Initiatives and was recently assigned to the 4th Dental Battalion N-7 shop.
